Electrician
Main Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical codespecifications.
Pulling and markup wire through conduits and holes.
Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and related electrical equipment.
Splices, joins, and connects wire to form circuits.
Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
Ability to work off ground, with ladders, scaffolding and AWP.
Ability to measure, cut, Fab and Install Trays.
Termination of cable.
Installation of heat trace.
Installation of light fixtures, junction boxes and miscellaneous pieces of equipment ranging in various weightsfrom 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
May perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Specific Knowledge:
The ability to interpret blue prints.
Ability to work around cranes and forklifts frequently.
Industry Specific Experience:
An understanding of safe work practices and the knowledge to safely operate the tools of the trade.
Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Able to work at heights (no more than 20 feet).

OSAA Fall protection
OSSA Elevated Work Platform
Education &ndash Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Must be an Electrical Apprentice or hold a Journeyperson ticket or hold a valid recognized credentialfrom a recognized provincial training authority.
Alberta (AIT) Apprenticeship consists of:
The term of apprenticeship for an electrician is 4 years (four 12-month periods) including a minimum of 1500 hours of on-the-job training and 8 weeks of technical training in each of the first three years, and a minimum of 1350 hours of on-the-job training and 12 weeks of technical training in the fourth year.
